University of British Columbia

Aug 2022 – May 2028 (expected)
BSc, Major in Computer Science · GPA 92.6%Vancouver, BC
  • Coursework: Computer Systems (CPSC 213: C, memory management, threads, synchronization), Computer Networking (317: TCP/IP, sockets, routing), Algorithms & Data Structures (221), Algorithm Design & Analysis (320), Software Construction (210), Software Engineering (310), Relational Databases (304)
  • In progress: Computer Hardware & Operating Systems (313: caches, virtual memory, pipelining, processes), Programming Languages (311), Machine Learning (340), Advanced Databases (404)

experience

Teaching Assistant, CPSC 317 (Computer Networking)

Sep 2026 – Present
University of British ColumbiaVancouver, BC
  • Lead weekly tutorials for sections of 30–40 students and support lectures of 100+ on TCP/IP, the OSI model, sockets, and routing; help students debug Java/C socket programming assignments

Co-op Firmware Engineer

Jan 2026 – Aug 2026
NETINT Technologies Inc.Burnaby, BC
  • Designed an automated hardware-recovery subsystem for a fleet of FPGA-based video transcoders (firmware crash detection, DDR memory capture, hardware re-provisioning), refined through senior engineer code review
  • Achieved 87.5% unattended recovery across 978 regression runs where every hang previously required manual intervention, improving fleet availability and averting cascading false failures (one averted crash preserved 8,000+ queued tests)
  • Maintained Python/Bash health telemetry tooling (kernel-log scanning for segfaults and driver errors, PCIe drop/rescan, JTAG debug setup), isolating hardware/software faults under concurrent load for faster triage
  • Extended an object-oriented test framework and built Jenkins CI/CD pipelines (C/C++, Python, Bash, SQL) with hardware and QA stakeholders, validating VPU firmware across 15+ Linux, Windows, and Android configurations

Sergeant

Oct 2023 – Apr 2025
Republic of Korea ArmyDongducheon, South Korea
  • Led a 5-soldier team in joint U.S.-ROKA operations, safeguarding intelligence under strict encryption protocols

projects

SteamBridge

Feb 2026 – Present
GoC++Next.jsWailsGitHub Actions
  • Developed a Layer 3 virtual network in Go over a P2P transport, migrating from TAP (L2 Ethernet switching) to TUN (L3 IP routing) kernel interfaces to cut per-packet overhead; verified traffic in Wireshark
  • Hand-wrote a C++ bridge to the P2P transport, loaded from Go via purego (no cgo), and abstracted the TUN device behind a Go interface with platform-specific Linux and Windows implementations
  • Designed a custom 6-byte IPAM protocol with mutex-locked leasing for dynamic adapter configuration on Windows and Linux; replaced a fixed 1 ms poll with an adaptive read interval to cut idle CPU usage
  • Built a Wails/Next.js dashboard with live peer status, runtime firewall controls, and Steam friends-list joins
  • Wrote unit tests across the stack (Go testing, GoogleTest, Vitest) run by GitHub Actions CI on every push; used a Claude Code plan/code/review workflow, reviewing all AI-generated code before merge

ShutterQuest

Jan 2026
PythonFlaskNext.jsSQL
  • Owned the Flask REST API backend (DAO pattern for isolated SQL) on a team of 4 at nwHacks 2026; loaded OpenAI CLIP once at startup to rank concurrent submissions by cosine similarity

extracurriculars

Maple Bacon

  • Compete in team CTF events (cryptography, reverse engineering, binary exploitation, web security)

Homelab

  • Run OpenWrt on my gateway router with custom routing and firewall rules; debug with tcpdump
